Research project: The governance of migration beyond borders. Diplomacy, cooperation and externalisation
This project proposes to study migration diplomacy, international cooperation and outsourcing in the fields of border control and return policies from an original analytical perspective that consists of considering these fields as fields of practice and questioning the way in which the configurations of actors involved and their social interactions shape the government of migration in asymmetrical contexts of power. Drawing on social theories of knowledge constructions, the field theoretical tool and the practical turn in contemporary social sciences, this project aims to conduct field investigations on regional consultative processes, networks and platforms, as well as initiatives related to integrated border management between the EU/Mediterranean and West Africa.
